PUBLIC STREET EXCAVATION PERMIT

PERMIT APPLICATION FEE $25.00

Oregon law requires you to follow rules adopted by the Oregon Utility Notification Center. Those rules set forth in OAR 952-001-0010 through OAR 952-001-0090. You may obtain copies of the rule by calling the Center at the following number (503) 232-1987.

Pursuant to Yachats Municipal Code 7.06, an executed permit and a security deposit is required before any person undertakes excavation in street or utility rights-of-way. The Code requires written permission and completion of this application; execution of this permit form is the only type of written permission now acceptable to the City to meet that requirement. Failure to complete the application form and secure approval in advance is a violation of City Code.

PURPOSE OF EXCAVATION may be for WATER, SEWER, ELECTRICAL, TELEPHONE, STREET SURFACE , CABLE TV, SIDEWALK REPAIR, STORM DRAINAGE, or other.

A SECURITY DEPOSIT is required. It may be a Surety Bond, Blanket Surety Bond filed with City, Cash or Certified Check in an amount equal to twice the estimated value of the pavement to be cut, together with the cost of re-excavating and refill with proper material, if necessary, as determined by Superintendent of Public Works.

NOTE: You must advise Public Works Department 48 hours before digging.
