Conflicting information about low flow toilets

For several years now the City has encouraged property owners to conserve water by replacing old toilets with new low-flow models. However, some homeowners have been very vocal about less than satisfactory experiences with the new toilets.

While some of the new low-flow models do not perform as well as they should, there are many on the market that work well. Manufacturers have received a lot of feed back about the poor performance and are making design changes.

City Hall has had no problems with the one installed here, and staff has information about other models that have been working well in private homes.

If you are considering the change, but have heard the conflicting stories and are still unsure, maybe a plumber could provide information.

Low-flow toilets are still a great idea, and most do work. Check it out!
